The
Bacolod entertainment district aims to increase visitor
arrivals by at least 20% per year, positioning Bacolod
as the convention city of Western Visayas and a premiere
destination for tourism-related sports and events of
special interests, like concerts shows, movie
promotions, fashion shows and related productions. By
applying marketing strategies to attract more
investments, the district aims to increase local
employment through tourism. The city government of
Bacolod also aims to increase the revenue/tax
collections from tourism-related establishments to
further finance tourism development projects. The
Bacolod entertainment district also wants to achieve and
maintain a high quality of services for the convenience
and satisfaction of visitors and tourists that visit the
city and the province, particularly during special
events, such as the Masskara festival, and other local
celebrations.
Because of its rich historical and cultural heritage,
Bacolod entertainment district and its neighboring
towns and municipalities are spearheading the
development of art and culture to preserve their
legacy. It has organized advocacy programs for
environmental awareness and basic value orientation for
ecotourism and similar sustainable programs. The steady
flow of visitors coming in and passing through the
city, the Bacolod entertainment district carries the
burden of keeping this growth rising steadily.
